We grow flowers in our West Cork cutting garden, combine them with foraged, wild ingredients, and select Fair Trade stems from the Dutch market. This marriage of contents creates a unique floristry experience.

Our story

Howe Hill Flowers is a boutique floral design studio and cutting gardens hidden behind a leafy tree hillside overlooking the Atlantic ocean in West Cork, Ireland.

The idea for a flower farm was first envisioned. A means to obtain the most unusual and exquisite seasonal blooms, free from the highly commercialised trappings of modern floriculture.

Flicky Howe began by growing a bed of scented sweet peas in the 2016 summer in her polytunnel. At the time she was working for a retail flower shop, and found she could earn some extra money supplying fragrant bunches to sell there. The following summer, beds of cornflower and calendula were added. As the amount of beds and flowers grew, so did the interest of the customers. Flicky was soon supplying decorative and edible flowers for plates and tables to a number of restaurants. By the 2018 season, an 1/8 of an acre of garden was fully planted in flower beds, and things were getting busy!

At the begining of 2019 Flicky undertook the Floret flower farming course, and in May that year she left her retail florist job to concentrate on her own business full time.

Howe Hill Flowers now grows 1/2 acre of cut flowers each season, both out in the open air and under polytunnel cover. They supply market bunches of seasonal flowers from March through September to The Roughty Foodie in The English Market, Cork city and to Gather Community Grocer in Ballinspittle. They are in-house florists to Dunmore House Hotel near Clonakilty and The Old Head Golf Links near Kinsale, filling their vases with seasonal blooms each week. They also supply decorative flowers to Diva Boutique Bakery in Ballinspittle and Max’s Restaurant in Kinsale.

Howe Hill Flowers are wedding and event flower specialists. They provide beautiful, romantic, garden inspired floral designs for occasions which require the best and most exquisite flowers. In 2024 they received the accolade of Best Boutique Flower Studio Munster in the LuxLife Global Wedding Awards.

Hand Picked With Care

Each bough and bloom in our cutting gardens and studio is carefully selected to fulfill our clients requirements. We curate arrangements each week of the season for our VIP clients, deliver gift flowers between Kinsale and Clonakilty, and provide flowers for weddings and events throughout Co.Cork.

We do on occasion supplement our own garden produce with flowers and foliage from the Dutch flower auctions. We buy from Hoek in Holland or from Central Floral in Cork city, and carefully choose only the very best Fairtrade flowers available.

We are proudly a conflict free flower consumer. In particular, we do not support any flowers originating from countries embroiled in the current genocide in occupied Palestine. We are loudly shouting “Free Palestine!”.
